About the Guthrie Heritage SCIO

The Guthrie Heritage SCIO is a registered Scottish charity, dedicated to preserving the history, spirit, and community of Clan Guthrie.

Our focus is the Church — a living link to centuries of heritage. Through restoration, education, and connection, we ensure that the Guthrie legacy is kept alive for future generations. The SCIO represents a collaboration between the global Guthrie family, the local Guthrie community, and the family of the 20th Clan Chief of Guthrie, Colonel Ivan Guthrie, and his daughter, the 21st Clan Chief, Moyra Guthrie. Together, we are committed to protecting and celebrating our shared story. In 2024, Guthrie Church was added to the list of churches to be sold by the Church of Scotland. To combat the fears that the church would no longer be available for regular worship — and could potentially fall into ruin — the Guthrie Heritage SCIO was established. Thanks to the generous support of Guthries around the world, in April 2025 the SCIO became the proud custodians of Guthrie Church, marking the start of an exciting new chapter in the story of our clan.
